Perry Miniatures Travel Battle on the Strait of Bonifacio

My son and I took travel battle along on our vacation/ cruise to Europe. Fittingly our first day at sea took us through the Strait of Bonifacio off the coast of Corsica – he’s 11, but Napoleon is a figure he has studied thoroughly, so very pleased with himself.
We took two boxes of miniatures and terrain along in one box, so you will see twice as many units as you get in the basic set. I glued the miniatures before we traveled, so game set up took 5 minutes. Gameplay for 6 brigades per side took perhaps 60 minutes with a decisive result.
I can see some places where experienced gamers could add more rules/ detail, but in general, I had a great time playing it, and recommend it to folks looking at its cost etc. I think for us, it is what it says – a game to travel with which isn’t just cardboard counters.
Here’s a shocker- I lost as the British. My son read the rules for us, as always he applied better tactics.
We liked the game – great fun – hats off for taking it all the way to production.
