15mm war Spanish Succession – progress on the French army

1

June 24, 2017 by wargamerchris

This weekend I picked up the brush and painted some additional battalions for my French Marlburian army.  I am in the middle of building out all nations but mostly have the British and allies in hand and need to get the opposition together.

Here then are two new battalions of Regiment Navarre – one of those regiments that was continuously fighting throughout the period.

These are part of my Editions Brokaw collection for WSS.  They have a charm about them and I STRUGGLE with what to do with my larger style 18mm Khurusan and old Glory units – they tower over the EB figures.

The other thing I got painted was a French cavalry regiment.  Normal squadrons will be 4 stands so this will be a large unit in Black Powder parlance.

Grenadier companies for the battalions – I’m just learning they didn’t wear grenadier caps

French commanders for horse and foot – many more on the painting table

Anyone have EB figs they might want to trade for my beautiful Khurusan collection – reach out….

Hi Chris, beautiful collection, and great painting job! I just noticed your last line — I happen to have three EB ready army sets, two unpainted (Hanover and Imperial Dutch), and one partially primed/painted (Palatinate). I would happily consider a trade! You can reach me at sxpp1750 [at] gmail dotcom. Best, Adolfo
