The start to my Editions Brokaw collection for the War if Spanish Succession came from a collection which I accepted in trade for another painted collection about a year ago. It’s taken a while to decide where no am going with this in terms of rules etc.
The Partisan historical volume had surprises for me tonight. In my crazy lifestyle this is a book I picked up from Dennis at On Military Matters perhaps ten years ago but have never read cover to cover. It definitely falls into the category of I’m really glad I bought that….
Thinking I had only British and French armies in my collection, I was surprised to find some 7 battalions of what I thought were French in dark blue uniforms…. Thanks to Mr. Grant I see they are actually Prussian – who knew!
Anyway – here they are – in their restored, flocked glory.
I’m afraid seven battalions isn’t enough if stand alone but I believe they fought with the Allies so could be a supplementary force in the way that this war made hodgepodge battalions the norm.
